Turbo

Type−25 Garrett GT Turbo

Possibly the most time consuming part of this new project was the testing and development of the new Type−25’s Turbo and exhaust system. During the course of development we have bought and tested 10 different turbos, many needing there own bespoke ancillaries. Turbos included: larger original Type−25 Hybrids; Garrett GT28; GT30; GT32 and GT35 in many different variations.

Achieving the peak horse power was relatively easy but finding the right balance with throttle response and low down torque was a long−term project. The development car was tested not only on the road but also on Powerstation’s state of the art dyno, UK circuits and dedicated test facilities. We able to measure the engine’s parameter using Ecutek’s advanced software and also with additional sensors including an array of temperature and pressure sensors, 2 exhaust gas temperature sensors and wide−band lambda, allowing detailed analysis under hard driving conditions.

  • Ceramic coated exhaust housing for heat retention/shielding
  • Dual Garrett ballistic bearings for instant response
  • GT advanced blade aerodynamics
  • Port compressor shroud to eliminate surge
  • Large inlet
  • Virtually no turbo lag

Type−25 Milltek Twinscoll Manifold

At each step of the way we have had the support from our exhaust manufacturers, Milltek. They have now redesigned the Twinscroll manifold and downpipe to accept our turbo choices.

  • Twinscroll pulse conversion design
  • Ceramic coated inside and out for heat retention/shielding
  • Type 304 aircraft grade stainless steel
  • Mandrel bending ensures smooth flow

Type−25 Larger Turbo Inlet pipe

  • Larger diameter turbo inlet
  • Tough silicone construction
  • Subtle matt black OEM finish
